Nala and Marcia earned their NW1 title today. In order to do this, Nala had to successfully indicate the odor of birch at an interior search, exterior search, box search and automobile search. Congrats on this accomplishment!
What's that smell?!
Why, it's Birch! Buddy and Nala are both working to achieve some noseworks titles. The first thing they have to do is pass an ORT (Odor Recognition Test) to prove that they do know how to find the odor of Birch. Today Nala successfully passed her ORT and is now able to enter some competitions! Buddy didn't pass, or maybe we should say Marcia didn't! Marcia called Buddy's indicate a little too early and it wasn't at the right spot. Lesson's learned the hard way, they'll get it next time! Way to go guys!
Insurance leg for Henna in HRC
After the disaster that was the first two hunt tests Melissa and Henna entered, Andrew Burns with Happy Tails dog training ran Henna and got her both her JH and her SHR titles. However, Melissa wanted to get back up on the horse and try running Henna again herself in a hunt test. So after the pressure was off, Melissa and Hen entered the Fox River Valley hunt test in Richmond, IL. Henna did great! She ran the test beautifully and didn't give Melissa the trouble she did in the beginning -- Yeah for getting back up on the horse and trying again! So proud! Check out her land series on our video page!

The 2013 Wisconsin State fair has come to a close. Melissa and Henna competed in the dock diving competitions Mon - Thursday and had a pretty successful run! Henna's best jump of the 4 days was just a little over 20'! Henna walked away with 2 first place finishes, 1 second place finish and 1 third place finish! We'll for sure be back next year!
It was a close call Tuesday at the Wisconsin State Fair dock diving competition. Henna came in a too close to call second place with another jump of 20'9". If only mom could have thrown the toy a little further she may have had it!
Henna and Melissa took first place with a jump of 20.6" at the first day of dock diving at the 2013 Wisconsin State Fair!
